Maria Blazevic is a professional dancer, competitor, instructor and choreographer, specializing in Ballroom and Latin, wedding dances and group choreographies. For 8 years, she taught at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Aventura, Florida before starting her own studio.
This is where she learned the business aspect of running a dance studio. From training the staff, to marketing and promotions, to teaching popular social dances, competitive dances (Both American and International Style) to wedding dances and group choreography.
As a professional dancer, Maria won numerous prestigious domestic and international titles – including 3 times national Croatian Championship. She has been featured on Croatian Local TV and newspapers as an outstanding athlete and dancer. She started dancing professionally at the age of 9, and hasn’t stopped since.
Maria has been teaching and giving dance instructions for the last 16 years. She helped some of the stars on Croatian version of a popular TV show Dancing with the Stars. Together with her professional dance partner she developed several dance programs for kids and contributed her knowledge to many dance projects in Croatia. Under her training 2 junior couples have won Croatian National Titles in Latin Dances.
After moving to USA in 2008. Maria started a new dance career in Fred Astaire Dance Studio, where she taught social and competitive style of ballroom and Latin dances to beginner and advance students of all ages.
Maria is also a well-known Zumba Fitness Instructor. She choreographs all her routines and is helping other Zumba instructors with their own routines.
She has bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Journalism.
